New International student's checklist

THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF THINGS THAT NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS NEED TO COMPLETE. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ANY ONE OF THE ITEMS AT THE SLUTZKER CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL SERVICES.

  • Check into the Slutzker Center To-do List.
  • Attend the New Student Arrival Seminar (NSAS) [assigned by the Welcome Desk Staff]
  • Graduate students check in with your academic department.
  • I-9 Employment Eligibility form: Required if you have an SU or ESF Assistantship
  • Open your bank account.
  • Complete steps on Clearance Form
  • Obtain your NetID for email and registration.
  • Attend Orientation Sessions.
  • Move into your permanent housing accommodations.
  • Telephone service
  • Register for classes
  • Obtain your Student ID Card.
  • SUNY-ESF students conduct the following business in Bray Hall
    • Net ID
    • Bursar
    • I-9 Employment Eligibility
    • Health Insurance (automatically charged to your tuition bill)
    • Registration
  • Complete immigration procedures if you are in one of the following categories:
    • Transfer from another University or high school
    • Change of Status from one visa type to another while remaining in the U.S.
    • Returning from a Leave of Absence
