Getting to Syracuse
Syracuse is located approximately 250 miles to the west of New York City (NYC). There are several ways to get to Syracuse from New York City. By Plane, By Train, and By Bus. Students flying in from an international departure city can choose to arrive at either La Guardia international airport or JFK ariport (both airports are located in New York City). However, we recommend that students should choose JFK International Airport since the two budget airlines that we will mention below only operate from this airport.By Plane
Currently JetBlue is the most popular budget airline that flies to John Hancock International Airport in Syracuse from JFK airport. The one-way ticket price from NYC (JFK International Airport) varies ranging from US$ 49 and up (price is without tax and other applicable fees). The apporximate travel time from JFK to Syracuse is about one (1) hour (assuming that there are no delays).
By Train
The service for train travel is provided by Amtrak. Amtrak provides service to and from most major cities in the United States. There are two types of seat on the Amtrak train, Coach and Business seats. The ticket price for the train varies depending on the type of seat that you choose and the time of reservation.
