Getting to Syracuse | Arrival Checklist


As a new international student, this orientation is one of the most important workshops you will attend. Please make sure that you arrive on time.

Although Fall semester classes begin on August 27, 2012, please remember that you first must arrive early enough to check in with the Slutzker Center for International Services, find housing, and attend the International Student Orientation on the date mentioned below.

English Language Assessment Exam (ELAE)

Mandatory for all undergraduates to take ELAE

Required for all graduates with a TOEFL score under 600 (under 250 if you took the computer-based test or under 100 if you took the Internet-based version).

Time: 9:00am -12:00pm (noon)
