2. Evidence of your student status
a. Specify the length of the visit.
b. State that you are prepared to take care of your invitee; this means that you will provide a place to stay, that you will meet necessary expenses, etc.
a. You can receive a letter from the Registrar’s Office as evidence of student status.
b. Include with your letter a photocopy (NOT the original) of your I-20/DS-2019, passport, visa and I-94 card.
3. Evidence of your ability to financially support your visitors (your assistantship letter, bank statement, etc.). This evidence is needed only if your visitor does not have the funds to support himself or herself.
4. All visitors should have health insurance. They may bring travelers’ health insurance purchased in their home country, or may purchase it here. The Slutzker Center has a policy designed for short-term international visitors. However, it must be purchased within 7 days of arrival in the United States.
If you desire, the Slutzker Center for International Services will also write a letter supporting your request. Please use the “Invitation Letter Request” form below to request such a letter.
