Leadership Opportunity
The Slutzker Center is looking for motivated student volunteers to serve as peer mentors in the upcoming summer orientation. Mentors will be asked to make themselves available to meet with and answer questions from new students as part of their Summer Orientation on June 27th and to help provide advice and social programming throughout the week that follows to ease the transition of new students into university life and help them to acclimate to the Syracuse area.
Students who are interested in this type of leadership experience are invited to contact James Willson at jwillso@syr.edu with questions, or attend an informational meeting at the SCIS on Tuesday, April 14th at 12:00 p.m. or Thursday April 16th at 2:00 p.m.

Free Syracuse Symphony Tickets
Free Syracuse Symphony tickets are available for the Friday night and Saturday night performances this weekend. Students who are members of the International Center of Syracuse will have the first opportunity to claim 2 tickets each. However, since the time is so short, this invitation is sent out to ALL students and scholars.
If you are interested, please send a message to lescis@syr.edu immediately. Please indicate if you are a current member of the International Center of Syracuse as those members who wish to have tickets will have first priority. All others will be accepted after ICS members are accommodated. The tickets will be available for pick-up at the Slutzker Center between 1-5 p.m. on Friday, April 4. Enjoy!!!

Earth Day Cleanup
Last year, 150 students and Syracuse residents gathered together to pick up litter in the University neighborhood. At the end of the day, the Department of Public Works removed over 75 bags of trash.
This year’s County Wide Earth Day Cleanup is scheduled for April 26. It is being sponsored by the Office of Orientation and Off-Campus Programs, the Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency, and the Office of Government & Community Relations. Volunteers will meet at the Erwin First United Methodist Church (920 Euclid Ave.) to work from 10:30 a.m.-1:00p.m. Lunch from ZJ’s Pizza and Wings will be provided. Interested volunteers should register online.
Funding for Student-Directed Health and Wellness Programs
A trustee and alumni of SU, Alex Nason, is donating $10,000 to be used for a student-directed wellness initiative of health/wellness programs designed for students by students.
Come voice your opinion and help determine how the money should be used. What would be a great way to promote health and wellness on campus? Do you want more free fitness classes? Or maybe cooking seminars? Have other ideas…we want to hear them!

Rebuilding Hope: A Documentary Film About South Sudan
Three “Lost Boys” fled home when civil war forced them to flee South Sudan as young children. This is the documentary of their journey discovery and their efforts to provide health and education to their communities.
