Wescott Cultural Fair           .              
Westcott Street Cultural Fair, an annual gathering of unique artists, performers and members of the culturally diverse Westcott neighborhood, will take place on Sunday, September 21, from 12-6:30 p.m. in the 400 and 500 blocks of Westcott Street.
  Volunteers are needed to help out with a number of activities including arts and crafts, live musical performances, and many more!   University Lectures Series: Activist & Author, Ishmael Beah.
Human rights activist and author, Ishmael Beah, will present “The Making, and Unmaking, of a Boy Soldier” on Tuesday, Sep. 23, at 7:30 p.m in Hendricks Chapel. Beah's 2007 memoir, "A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier" was SU's 2008 Shared Reading selection. Annual Book Sale – Petit Library
Petit Library, at Harvard Place off-Wescott, will hold its Annual Book Sale this Sunday. On sale will be books, audio books CDs, DVDs and videos donated by friends and neighbors. Funds raised will support the library collection and programs.

Community Internship Fair
The Syracuse University Center for Career Services and Project ION will partner to host the first Community Internship Fair on September 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event, taking place under tents on the Syracuse University Quad, will offer local employers the opportunity to connect with students about internship opportunities in this region.
More than 90 Syracuse-area businesses, non-profits, and other organizations are expected to participate in the fair. Organizations currently registered to attend include: American Red Cross, Citadel Broadcasting, Democracy Matters, Everson Museum of Art, INROADS, Pyramid Management Group, Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare, Walt Disney World, Wegmans Food Markets and many more. Cooking Classes
The Office of Orientation and Off-Campus Programs, Healthy Monday and the Department of Nutrition and Hospitality Management will sponsor three FREE cooking classes this semester. Annual Ukrainian Picnic

Interfaith Travel Study
Hendricks Chapel invites students to an interfaith travel study to Jerusalem over Spring Break 2009. The travel study is an exploration of the rich history of the three traditions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam, in the region. It is aimed at developing a community of learners who strive to contribute greater understanding on the issues of Jewish-Christian-Muslim relations.
The study is open to Jewish, Christian and Muslim graduate and undergraduate students from both SU and ESF. For more info download the application and itinerary.
