International Thanksgiving Dinner This Sunday
All students who have picked up tickets for the Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday, November 23, should reach Goldstein Auditorium at the Schine Student Center no later than 5:00 p.m. All ticketed students will be allowed to enter at that time. If there are still empty seats at 5:30 p.m., when the dinner begins, students who don’t have tickets will be provided seating on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested in going to the dinner and do not have tickets yet, you are welcome to arrive by 5 p.m. and wait to see if there will be any empty seats. Additionally, if you arrive with a ticket after 5:30 p.m., there might not be any seats left for you, so please be on time!
Students who currently hold tickets—IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND—please contact Dr. Patricia Burak, at paburak@syr.edu and let her know as soon as possible!! We have many students on the waiting list, who can be invited to attend in your place if you let us know by 3 p.m. Sunday at the latest. Don’t let these precious seats go waste!
This year’s event will feature a Greek dance performance by the St. Sophia Adult Dance Group along with the traditional Thanksgiving meal (and some vegetarian food). To get a better sense of the celebrations, do visit our picture archive from the years gone by.
The guest list this year includes, Chancellor Nancy Cantor, President and Mrs. Murphy from SUNY ESF and the benefactor of the Slutzker Center, Lillian Slutzker. Other table hosts include university staff and faculty, as well as, members from the Central New York community.
We hope to see many of you there on Sunday evening. Don’t forget to bring your cameras!
